Tatiana Loguinova introduces second album in the Chris Maene Piano Museum
On December 11th, the numerous audience of Chris Maene's Piano Museum, enthusiastically welcomed pianoforte wonder Tatiana Loguinova. Tatiana presented her second solo album - Mikhail Glinka “Treasures for the Pianoforte”("Phaedra Classics" DDD 292026) - for the very first time to the press and public.
A while ago, Tatiana Loguinova undertook a unique project, covering the history of Russian keyboard music written for the harpsichord or pianoforte, from the very first examples till the Early Romanticism in the 19th century. This resulted in a first solo CD from a series of four: "The Music at the Russian Court in the 18th and 19th Centuries" ("Phaedra Classics" DDD292009), recorded on a pianoforte Anton Walter,1795 –Chris Maene replica. The international press highly prized this album and Radio Klara (Belgium) chose the CD as the best CD of the week.
In January 2011, Tatiana started the next phase, the sequel to the first CD. The program contains very little known piano music (even in Russia) from Mikhael Glinka. Glinka belonged to the era of Early Romanticism in Russia and is considered as the Father of Russian classical music. This latest "Phaedra Classics" release, the world first recording of Glinka's piano masterpieces on a historical instrument from the time of his compositions (pianoforte Conrad Graf, Vienna 1825, Chris Maene replica), took place in a unique venue with an excellent acoustic - "Theatre de Vaudeville" in Brussels (a miniature copy of the Opera House "La Monnaie"). These three components: music - instrument - venue, belonging to the same period and complimenting each other perfectly, make the “Treasures for the Pianoforte” album absolutely unique!
To add more, the CD release on December 11th was entirely in the spirit too. The recital took place in the Piano Museum of Chris Maene. Chris is an avid enthusiast, collector and restorer of historical keyboard instruments. His museum exhibits some of the most remarkable examples. This exceptional location gave the performance an extraordinary dimension! The sound that Tatiana created, performing on Conrad Graf that afternoon, was just as exceptional. She knew how to make the pianoforte shine and sing completely at its best! Everything was beautifully in harmony: the pianist, the music, the instrument and even the venue. A feast for the eyes and the ears ...
