2nd of July 2011 - Jazz@Piano's Maene: Nathan Daems Quintet

On the 2nd of July, the new jazz revelation Nathan Daems Quintet performed in our concert hall in Ruiselede.

The Nathan Daems Quintet was founded in Ghent in 2007. In 2007 and 2008, they gave several shows in prominent jazz cafés in Flanders. They even played as supporting act for Archie Shepp at the Dutch Jazz Middelburg Festival. In 2009 they recorded a demo and they gave several concerts, among which the Jong Jazztalent Gent competition, which they won in 2010! In 2011 they will play in different jazz clubs and cultural centra, at Gent Jazz Festival, Jazz Maastricht, Dinant Jazz Nights and also the concert hall of Piano's Maene. In the fall, their first cd will be released. The group mostly plays songs by Nathan Daems and a few by pianist Fulco Ottervanger.
