May 6th, 2011 - Inauguration Erard fortepiano in Vleeshuis Museum Antwerp

On Friday May 6th of 2011, a fortepiano Erard from 1840 was presented (and played on) in the Museum Vleeshuis in Antwerp. This concert grand was restored to its original condition by the Chris Maene Workshop, and is given on loan to the museum for a period of five years.

The fortepiano was played in by Piet Kuijken, who played works by Ludwig Van Beethoven, Frederic Chopin and Robert Schumann. Piet Kuijken is pianist and fortepiano teacher at the Royal Flemish Music Conservatory in Antwerp.
