Musica Mundi house concert at Pianos Maene Antwerp

Musica Mundi house concert at Pianos Maene Antwerp

Musica Mundi is a chamber music class and festival for international young talent from 10 until 18 years old. The initiative was started to give young and unique personalities the chance to grow, and to meet musicians who have already reached the top.

Because Pianos Maene has always believed in giving young and talented people a chance, we have backed up the project from the early beginning, now 14 years ago. The concert series grew out to be an important and prestigious festival with many important headliners on stage. A lot of youngsters who started out there, became full grown musicians with an impressive international carreer.

We were particularly delighted that we were asked to host a house concert with these young talents in our newest branch in Antwerp. Every year, Musica Mundi surprises us with the high level of talent, and this year was no exception. The chamber music ensembles were on the same wavelength, and the young pianists knew exactly how to bring out the subtleties of the grand piano in a mature way. The audience was very excited about the technical abilities, the musicality and the honesty with which the students played their music.

At the end of the concert, our employees Wolf Leye (Branch Manager Pianos Maene Antwerp) and Hans Vervenne (Product Manager Steinway & Sons), both trained musicians, expressed their gratitude to the students not with words, but with music. On two oppositely placed pianos, they played the first triosonate by J.S. Bach, to great delight of the audience and the kids. After the concert, everyone stayed to talk over a drink.
