Ataneres Ensemble in dialogue with pianist Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort

'Chordophone' is a unique collaborative initiative between the Ataneres Ensemble and Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort.

Ataneres is a young, professional string orchestra with roots in Leuven. Besides the large string repertoire, the ensemble also focuses on original combinations in various musical and artistic genres, with violinist Wim Spaepen as artistic director.

The ensemble works together with renowned musicians such as Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort.
The piano part is played by the latter on a revolutionary instrument of Belgian manufacture: the Chris Maene Straight Strung Concert Grand.

Bach's first piano concerto immediately highlights the renowned capacity of both piano and pianist. After the divertimento in D by Mozart, the romantic repertoire for string orchestra follows, including the intermezzo by Schreker. The Ataneres Ensemble and the audience favorite of the 2007 Queen Elisabeth Competition will end with Gershwin's thrilling and swinging Rhapsody in Blue.
