Moving Keys
The GP9M has a moving key function for entertainment at home or in commercial settings such as restaurants and hotels. You can access songs from the piano's extensive built-in library or MIDI files via USB. The Roland Cloud also offers a growing library of songs that can be accessed through the Roland Piano app.
Various audio connections
The professional XLR outputs allow you to connect the piano directly to an audio system in a concert hall or commercial setting for a wider sound range and independent control of the built-in speakers. All GP9M sounds go to the outputs by default, but you can assign dry piano sound, ambience only, or song playback to suit your needs. There is also a dedicated microphone input, allowing an artist to sing through the GP9M's sound system without the need for an external preamp or audio mixer.
Piano Reality Premium modeling
When playing an acoustic grand piano, a lot of physical interactions take place, such as pressing the keys, hitting the hammers on the strings, vibrating the strings and sound box, what notes you play and how you use the pedals. All of these interactions allow pianist to hear exactly what is going on inside the grand piano. The Piano Reality Premium modeling technology attempts to mimic similar communication between pianist and piano, in real time. Thanks to unlimited polyphony, the notes and resonance come into their own.
Piano Reality Concert Keyboard
The Roland GP9M's Piano Reality Concert Keyboard has longer keys so the tilt point is further back, like a grand piano. This gives you more control and a better response at the touch. The keys are a combination of wood and plastic. This mimics the playing feel of an acoustic piano well, but at the same time the use of plastic ensures good durability. The keyboard is equipped with an escapement (let-off) mechanism, just like a real acoustic piano. The keys have the look and feel of real ebony and ivory. The key surface is moisture-absorbing, which makes it harder for your fingers to slip off and will reduce the error rate.
The Roland GP9M is equipped with Piano Reality Responsive Concert Pedal technology, which means you'll experience limited resistance when you lightly depress the pedals and more resistance the further you depress the pedals, just like an acoustic piano. This makes half-pedal techniques easier and gives you, the pianist, much more control over dynamics and musicality.
Impressive Speaker System with Piano Reality Concert Projection
The Roland GP9M features the best speaker system in the series, which are optimally positioned in the grand piano cabinet allowing you to enjoy a piano concert experience. This Piano Reality Concert Projection technology uses a multi-channel amplifier and simulates the rich sound of a real grand piano. The eight speakers are perfectly optimized for superior and crystal-clear sound reproduction.
Bluetooth connectivity and Roland Piano app
The Roland GP9M can connect wirelessly to your smartphone or tablet via the Bluetooth Audio feature. That way, you can play along with your favorite songs yourself, improve your piano skills via online tutorials and even use the piano as a home entertainment audio system.
Via the Bluetooth MIDI function, you can use the Roland Piano app, which allows you to download electronic scores, practice your favorite songs and track your daily progress in the app. This provides a fine learning experience and motivates you to keep learning new things.
Robust and impressive design
The Roland GP9M's luxurious and solid cabinet gives you the impression of an acoustic grand piano, while retaining all the digital benefits. Just like a real grand piano, you can open the wing flap for better sound projection. Through a slide-out keyboard cover, the keys are protected when not in use. The minimalist control buttons disappear into the panel when the backlight is turned off. The GP9M is available in a stylish black or white high-gloss finish.
