The Doutreligne pianos are highly appreciated by both beginners and advanced pianists who want to make the most of their budget. Thanks to the use of high-quality materials such as a German Strunz soundboard, Röslau strings and Abel hammerheads, these pianos combine sound quality with durability. The polished black finish, together with chrome hinges and pedals, gives the instruments a modern and elegant appearance. With three different models in this range, there is always a suitable choice for every budget and every musical need.
Sound
The Doutreligne pianos are known for their warm bass and sparkling clarity in the higher registers. This typically European sound character makes them suitable for a wide variety of musical styles. Each instrument is carefully regulated and voiced by our expert technicians and undergoes strict quality control in our workshop in Ruiselede. In this way, we guarantee a perfect sound, built on more than 80 years of expertise.
Soundboard
The soundboard, often called the soul of the piano, transforms the vibrations of the strings into a rich, expressive piano sound. Our soundboards are crafted from solid spruce supplied by the German brand Strunz and are carefully tapered to ensure optimal vibration and powerful sustain.
Hammerheads
The Abel hammerheads are made of maple (in upright pianos) and mahogany (in grand pianos). These lightweight woods provide a pleasant touch and a pure response. With their double felt layer, the hammerheads retain their shape better and withstand years of string impact. The Master series is also equipped with superior Renner hammerheads.
Strings
With an average of 220 strings, each under a tension of 70 to 80 kg, the string quality greatly determines the piano’s sound power. The choice of German Röslau strings ensures the best purity and stability. Thanks to the duplex scale, several parts of the string vibrate along, creating a fuller tone and a richer sound.
Vertically laminated bridges
All models are equipped with vertically laminated bridges, an invention by Steinway & Sons from 1880. This construction allows for more efficient energy transfer to the soundboard and contributes to an even purer sound.
Cabinet design
The design of the Doutreligne pianos is sleek and contemporary, developed by our in-house design specialist with experience in both historical replicas and the Chris Maene straight-strung concert grands. This makes the instruments stand out from the classical design commonly found with other brands. With their stylish appearance, they blend seamlessly into both modern interiors and everyday living spaces. The extra-wide music desk also offers plenty of space for multiple scores side by side – ideal for intensive use.
