Doutreligne Seven – Belgian design and pure craftsmanship in one grand piano
The Doutreligne Seven is a unique combination of timeless design, European quality, and musical character. This contemporary grand piano translates the classical instrument into a modern design language that perfectly complements current interior trends. With its refined lines, angled legs, and balanced proportions, the Seven is not only an instrument but also a striking centerpiece in any space.
Pure, minimalist, and elegant – the Doutreligne Seven is an ode to simplicity and beauty.
An Instrument with Character
The Doutreligne Seven is more than a grand piano: it is an expression of personality and style. The angled legs, subtly shaped like the number “7”, give the piano not only its name but also its distinctive identity. They make the piano appear to lean slightly forward – an invitation for the pianist to take their seat.
Its pure design enhances the character of its sound – lively, refined, and full of life.
The instrument exudes power while remaining understated and harmonious. The Seven embodies the spirit of contemporary culture, designed for those who wish to experience music with all their senses.
Designed with Tomorrow in Mind
In collaboration with Blackbirds Design (Eric Dumortier), Piano’s Maene brought the Doutreligne Seven to life. Every detail, from construction to finish, was carefully developed.
The result is the product of over 85 years of craftsmanship in piano making, combined with the fresh perspective of Belgian top design.
The grand piano is handcrafted in the workshops of the Chris Maene Factory, where tradition and innovation strengthen each other. The Doutreligne Seven is not a distant work of art but an instrument that connects musicians, designers, and design enthusiasts.
It integrates effortlessly into modern interiors – from minimalist Scandinavian to warm contemporary – forming a natural bridge between music, design, and emotion.
Black Label & Color Label
The Seven is available in two stylish editions:
-
Black Label Seven: finished entirely in deep black, except for the keyboard and strings. This version radiates class and power.
-
Color Label Seven: finished in white, with the bench upholstery and inside of the keyboard lid in a color of your choice. A fresh, modern interpretation that fits perfectly into any contemporary interior.
Both editions demonstrate the finesse of Belgian design and the care taken in every detail.
Award-Winning Belgian Design
The Doutreligne Seven was launched in 2010 and, just a year later, received the prestigious Henry Van de Velde Label, an award recognizing exceptional Belgian design.
In 2015, the grand piano attracted international attention at the World Expo in Milan, where, together with the Chris Maene straight-strung grand piano, it showcased the innovative strength of Belgian piano craftsmanship worldwide.
The design was inspired by masters such as Alvar Aalto, known for his clean lines and organic forms. This same design philosophy is reflected in the Doutreligne Seven – a piano that redefines the essence of beauty.
