Responsive Hammer Compact II keyboard
The CX-202 features the Responsive Hammer Compact II keyboard with 88 graded-weight keys. Its 3-sensor technology accurately captures even fast repetitions, giving you reliable control over timing and dynamics. The result is a natural, predictable touch that closely approaches an acoustic grand, inside a compact cabinet that fits easily in your living room.
Grand Feel pedal system
With the Grand Feel pedal system, the sustain, soft, and sostenuto pedals deliver the expected resistance and travel of a concert grand. Their correct positioning helps you build proper pedal technique from the start — from subtle half-pedal effects to powerful passages — useful for both practice and performance.
Shigeru Kawai samples & Harmonic Imaging technology (HI)
The CX-202 uses carefully captured samples of the Shigeru Kawai concert grand. Thanks to Harmonic Imaging (HI), all 88 keys are reproduced consistently and richly, preserving harmonics and dynamics. Beyond the piano voices, you also get electric pianos, organs, strings, acoustic/electric bass, and vibraphone — ideal for stylistic variety and practice.
Sound: 2×20 W speakers & SHS headphones
The built-in stereo speaker system (2 × 20 W) easily fills a medium-sized room with a full, rich sound. The Low Volume Balance function intelligently adapts touch and tone at reduced levels to preserve the piano’s character. When practicing with headphones, Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS) provides a more spacious, more realistic soundstage for comfortable long sessions.
Premium speaker system and Low Volume Balance function
The CX-202’s stereo speaker system delivers a total output of 40 W across 2 speakers, filling the room with warm Kawai tones. The Low Volume Balance function intelligently tailors the keyboard response and piano tone when playing at reduced volume.
Bluetooth MIDI connectivity
With Bluetooth MIDI, connect wirelessly to your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Use PianoRemote to adjust settings and sounds, and PiaBookPlayer to browse scores and listen through the built-in speakers. The CX-202 also works seamlessly with third-party learning, notation, and performance apps — all without extra cables or adapters.
